Here at the Birmingham Tutor Company we offer our support to learners of all ages, no matter their ability to assure that they can gain qualifications without any problems. Something that we have been involved with quite heavily recently is improving adult numeracy through functional skills maths level 2 support. The government has plans to do this through a programme called the multiply programme which will hopefully improve the mathematical skills of the older learners and take them further in their careers.
As part of the multiply programme learners are given many different forms of level 2 maths materials and support. This includes quality tuition from DBS checked tutors. The way in which we will be offering our support is through the 1-2-1 functional skills maths tutors we have. A key step for learners in gaining these qualifications would be sitting the actual exams. To do this and receive the functional skills certificate you will need to go through a registered exam centre. You have the option of doing it through your nearby college or doing it from the comfort of your own home. Having this choice can be a big part of why adults want to take this exam. To qualify for this programme you must not already have a GCSE grade C/Level 4 or a functional skills maths level 2 qualification. Another great aspect to note about this scheme is that it is being made to be specific to an industry or sector. This can be for what a learner wants to proceed in or just to improve their mathematical skills from other perspectives. People want to learn in a good and effective way, so the practice questions and video explanations should make it a better and more relatable experience to make it easier to learn.
