When offering support to out learners, we don’t just offer tutoring services. We also offer assistance in other ways. Such as ensuring that you are fully informed regarding other support options. Such as resources and tools. Today we will be covering a particularly excellent tool called the functional skills diagnostic assessment.
The free functional skills diagnostic tests are based around the Functional Skills exams, and come in both Maths and English. The purpose of this short test is to give you an accurate measurement of your current level of knowledge in a subject. Assessing it against the Functional Skills curriculum to give you an accurate representation of your skills.
The diagnostic assessment can be used by learners in 2 main ways.
The first is to measure how much you have improved during your revision. This is done by taking the assessment numerous times during your revision. Giving you an idea of how much your knowledge has improved.
The second is to figure out which of the 2 levels of the Functional Skills exam you will be best taking. Colleges and other education providers like to do this to ensure that the exam you will be taking is at your skill level. However individual learners may prefer to take Level 2, as it is equivalent to a passing grade in GCSE Maths or English.
However you use it, for many learners taking Functional Skills, it is an amazing tool.
