At Birmingham Tutor Company we provide academic support for students. A question we get often is how to get a maths GCSE quickly. There are different ways to do this depending on personal circumstances. This week we are going to be looking at the options available.
The standard GCSE exam consists of 3 papers which are sat in either November or May/June. These are entirely paper based and so must be sat in a registered exam centre. All 3 exams are on different days which are decided earlier on in the year. This means that in order to sit these exams you must attend the exam centre on the 3 separate days. The issue with this for some students is they can’t attend on the dates they’re given, and there is no way of changing it. Instead, we suggest functional skills maths level 2. This qualification can be done online at home on a date that you choose. It’s still sat under similar exam conditions to the standard GCSE, but this just means that it can be accepted by employers and universities as a grade C equivalent. Results only take a number of days, but the GCSE takes around 6 weeks. Usually, functional skills is the fastest way to get a maths GCSE. The other alternative is the GCSE equivalency test, but this is mainly used for teacher training and so isn’t as widely accepted.
How to get a maths GCSE quickly depends on how soon you need results and the time of year. Functional skills tend to be the best option because it is a lot more flexible and results arrive a lot quicker. At Birmingham Tutor Company, we are committed to providing the best academic support.
